teaching the course Biomedical Equipment Technology. He has have written
numerous articles in Medical Equipment Dealer Magazine, Biomedical
Instrumentation and Technology, Journal of Clinical Engineering, Medhunters
Magazine, American Careers Magazine, Tech Brief: Biomedical Equipment
Information Systems Specialist which is currently in press. I also wrote in
Upstream Press 2001 and Critical Careers: A Guide to Opportunities in
Medical Equipment Service.
Why did you write the Tech Careers: Biomedical Equipment Technology book?
There is a Critical Careers book that was published in 2001 that is no
longer being printed and sorely in need of updating anyway. I wanted a book
that could be used in the Intro to Biomedical Equipment Technology courses
as an overview of the field that was up-to-date and could also serve as an
information source to attract people to the field for recruiting. This book
goes over the working conditions, the different career paths available and
provides some insight as to the day to day life of a biomedical equipment
technician. Right now, there are just no other books out there for an intro
class to this anymore, so the need for it was there in order to teach my
students.
